The Glenfarne community development Trusts operates from the world-famous Rainbow Ballroom of
romance which provides a “Play ground for creative people”. It is a venue that featured in a BAFTA
winning film, best-selling novel and still today provides a facility used by the community and public for
all types of event and workshops

Location: The Rainbow Ballroom
Job Title: Creative Media and Event intern
Duration: 2 days per week /20 weeks

Job Description:
In Partnerships with Leitrim County Council’s Arts Office and Local Enterprise Office, we are looking
for a creative intern to come on board within the Rainbow Ballroom to help facilitate in launching
our digital media platforms in live film and sound. Experience within sound, lighting and video is an
advantage for this role as it requires skilled technical knowledge of certain areas.
A knowledge of branding and marketing on social media platforms would also be an advantage but
not essential.

This internship is funded through Creative Ireland as part of the Government’s 2020 Jobs Stimulus
supports.

Covid 19 guidelines and protocols must be adhered too for the chosen applicant and full training will
be giving to ensure the safety of staff and visitors, PPE will also be provided for this role.

Tasks:
Working with live performers and staff to launch online platforms
Branding and marketing the business through social platforms
Creating events for the community and public
Work experience / qualifications

The ideal candidate should have skilled technical knowledge of sound, lighting and video and social
media platforms. Qualification in these areas is an advantage.

Job Title: Causal Bar & Waiting staff
Duration: Causal

Job Description:
Working the bar for events or public functions and wokring at private functions such as weddings or getherings.

Tasks:
Working with a team and supplying a high quality service to the general public

Experience is preferred but not necessary as training will be given.

Job Description:
Exploring your creativity whislt maintaining the grounds of the Rainbow Ballroom. With expansion of a new garden and further plans to upgrade more floral displays we are seeking a gardener or gardeners to come on board on a volunteers or scheme basis to help out.  

Tasks:
Working with a team and supplying, maintaining current garden and exploring new floral ideas.

Work experience / qualifications:

Experience is preferred but not necessary as training will be given.

Job Description:
To provide a course in Irish as part of the ETB within the Rainbow Ballroom. The chosen applicant must be able to work in a educations environment providing a high level of education to the people whom take the course

Tasks:
Working with a team and providing an educational course.

Work experience / qualifications:

Qualified Irish teacher is essential.

Job Title: Tour Guides (Volunteer / CE Scheme)

Job Description:
We are looking for exciting, enthusiastic new members of our team for our tourism experience. As Irelands number 1 showband experience we get the chance to meet visitors from all over the world and guide them through our showband experience. As a guide you will be responsible for organising the tour for small and large groups who come to the Rainbow Ballroom and making sure you provide a high level of customer service.

Tasks:
Working with a team and the general public, promoting the rainbow ballroom experience.

Work experience / qualifications:

Experience in customer service or tourism is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
